Probably Someday Cancer wins indie book award!
Probably Someday Cancer won a Foreword INDIES gold award in the health category today! I'm thrilled to be honored among books in a variety of categories published by independent presses last year.
Foreword INDIES' website says "independent presses are publishing some of the most innovative, creative and beautiful books." I'm grateful to The University of North Texas Press for publishing my story about the tough decisions I made after discovering that I carry a BRCA2 genetic mutation that put me at a very high risk for breast cancer.
As an indie author, it can be difficult to reach new readers. I'd be grateful for your help! Here are some easy -- and free -- ways:
1. Post short, honest reviews on sites such as Amazon and Goodreads.com. This is one of the most important ways you can support an author. Amazon, for example, highlights books that have many reviews, while books with fewer reviews can get buried in searches.
2. Follow me on Facebook, on Twitter @KimHorner and/or hornerkim on Instagram!
Thank you to everyone for your support! And special thanks to Sue Friedman, executive director and founder of Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE), for writing the wonderful foreword to the book.
